I have done enough travelling and worked in the industry long enough to know how essential travel insurance is. Absolutely should not leave your country without it!

Universal Travel Adapter
When you are going across multiple countries, there may be a random one or two that are a different power socket. I have been caught out in this situation and couldn’t charge anything for 5 days. Having one that does it all, brilliant!
Packing Cubes
They make life easier and more organised while travelling. I like to get smaller sizes and compression style as it helps save space, as sometimes that can take up more room then they are worth.
