I recently travelled to Bali where I was working a 9-5 remotely for 4 weeks. I had an amazing time and I am so lucky I got the opportunity. Here are 7 things to take into consideration when planning to travel and work remotely.
It is not all fun, all the time
You are still working a normal 9-5, so in those hours, you are still working. It can be easy to drop the ball at work when you have a lot around you that you might rather be doing.
Wifi connection
Ensuring you do you research regarding wifi connection. Some places will have better wifi than others, make sure you read the reviews of the accommodation as a lot of people will mention this.
Laptop screen
Do you work from just a laptop at home, or do you work from multiple screens? These days there are lots of different options for portable second screens that are very handy, this includes using an Ipad as a second screen, laptop extenders and larger options.
Taking private calls
Do you take any calls or private calls in your job role? As part of my job I need to take calls all day. This means that I couldn’t work from a hostel or a co-working area because I don’t want to be disturbing the others there. Co-working spaces can be great for meeting people with the same mindset as you, but be respectful of others trying to work too.
It can give you freedom
Travelling while working gives you the freedom to travel, while you are still working. Making the most of working remotely allows you to work from anywhere.
Have a routine
Have a routine in place, make sure you are setting time to get your work done. Make sure you have a routine you enjoy and always leave time for fun!
Insurance is important
Ensure you have insurance that covers everything you use for work, including laptops and equipment. You do not want to be in a situation where something happens and you can not work or make a living.

If you need a recommendation, I have personally used Cover More in the past and they were great! Click here to see more! Always read the PDS before purchasing and ensure it is right for you!
